Arsenal’s talented midfielder Mikel Arteta has revealed that he could have been a professional player had he not pursued his dream of becoming a footballer.
The 31-year-old was an able tennis player, and he was told to make a choice at the age of twelve. Arteta, of course, chose football.
‘Hopefully I made the right choice,’ said the Spanish midfielder.
Arteta also said that he considers Ronaldinho to be the most skilled player he has ever played along, as he played along with him at the now big-spending Paris Saint Germain.
‘Some of his tricks, his techniques, his natural ability to dominate the ball was like nothing for him, but for us they were impossible,’ said Mikel.
‘We’d be trying for hours but couldn’t manage to do it.’
Mikel Arteta himself is a very versatile player, but his choice of Ronaldinho is not surprising. The Brazilian is indeed the best talent ever!
