Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is very concerned ahead of Arsenal’s match against Marseille in the Champions League due to the huge list of player injuries.
“I’m concerned the squad is looking thin,” Wenger said.
“From now until Christmas we will play every three or four days, and we cannot play for the next two months with the squad we have at the moment.
“It is important we get some players back.”
Per Mertesacker, Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud have all been declared fit for tonight’s clash. However, Arsenal will play without Santi Cazorla, Yaya Sanogo, Tomas Rosicky, Abou Diaby, Nicklas Bendtner, Lukas Podolski and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
However, Arsene Wenger is confident that Arsenal will maintain their strong away record in the European competition.
“At home we sometimes play with the handbrake, but if you look at our record away from home in the Champions League we compare with the best in Europe. We try to play, but it doesn’t mean we always win,” the French boss said.
