Arsenal fans have been crying since the transfer period began for a defending-midfielder and they have been linked with a few names with Sami Khedira being the most prominent one. However, Arsene Wenger has other plans.
Wenger thinks Arsenal’s new signing Calum Chambers will do well in that position. He told The Express:“He can play central midfield as well as he has good technique, great mobility and is a good good distance runner. He was educated as a central midfielder and then played with England under-19 at centre-back and right-back for Southampton and that is where I saw him the first time against us and I liked him.”
Other than Khedira, Arsenal have also been linked to William Carvalho and Lars Bender. Wenger, however, will not be making a new signing for that position which has been implied from his statement.
Arsenal already has Mikel Arteta at that position but he is aging now so the fans are asking for a replacement.
However, talkSPORT have claimed in the morning that Khedira to Arsenal is almost done.
