Wenger: Arsenal has the quality to qualify for the top four

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stressed that his team has to remain consistent during the remaining season, but they still have a long way to go.

Arsenal is currently fifth in the table, and they are four points behind Chelsea and seven points behind Tottenham Hotspur.

Wenger believes that defeating Bayern Munich could inspire his team to do better for the rest of the season.

“I always believe we have the quality to be in the top four,” he said. “Ten games is a long way to go and it is down to consistency.

“The away games will have a vital part of our final position. Saturday is a big away game so it is important we prepare for it.

“If you ask any club, the first priority would be to be in the Champions League. For us, it is the same. It will be our main focus and if we can do it again, that is our target. It will give us a chance next year to fight at the top level.”

As Tottenham and Chelsea are still in the Europa League, Wenger believes that it might distract them, and the teams could lose points.

“As long as you are in these competitions you are focused and the focus is natural,” he said. “The only thing we can hope is that they drop points and we don’t. But we cannot influence all of that.”
