Celtic star Victor Wanyama has confirmed, on the last day of the January transfer window that he will not be leaving Celtic this term.

Wanyam is best remember for his excellent performance against FC Barcelona in the Champions League when he scored the first goal against them. Celtic won 2-1 over Barcelona is November.

He has been linked with United since a very long time, but this season, United’s interest increased when they began to constantly scout the midfielder.

Sir Alex was apparently ready to to buy him for £12 million but the 21-year-old does not want to leave his club right now, especially during the club’s Champion s League fight.

“I can confirm to you that I will be at Celtic,” he told the Daily Record. “We are playing well and our Champions League dream is on right now, so I am looking forward to the big game against Juventus.”

However, Wanyama did hint that his mind could change at the end of the season. It is naturally very hard to decline an offer from the big clubs, such as Manchester United.

“A lot has been said about my intended move but I have not given it much thought and even my manager feels I should play until the end of the season for Celtic,” he added.

“Then, from that point, the doors can be open for a move.”

Wanyama has made 34 appearances for Celtic this season in all competitions and he has scored 12 goals for them.
