Anatoliy Tymoshchuk, midfielder of Ukraine
There are a lot of emotion now. We got a very sound and crucial support from our fans. We always wanted to win. We created a lot of occasions it was completed and then returned to show the character of ours. Late in the game we did our best not to take any other purpose. The most important today is the collective. There was not only 11 players on the pitch. All players, staff and the entire stadium was behind us. That’s why we won this game today: we were one family.
This kind of emotions is so unique … They are similar to those we experienced during the World Cup (FIFA in 2006), but now it is the European Championship. The difference is that we play at home, these are new experiences. There are so many fans who came here to see this. Our supporters all clad in blue and yellow. We really felt they were behind us now. We fought for three very important points. We were really anxious. The match was very hard, then primarily the result should satisfy us.
