Swansea vs. Arsenal – Match Preview

Venue and Timings

The match kicks off at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday, March 16th, 2013 at 1500 hours BST (2000 hours PST and 2030 hours IST).

Team News

Swansea

Luke Moore was substituted against West Ham United, and the player will be hopeful that he can feature against Arsenal as he has been in good goal-scoring form.

Leon Britton missed the game last week due to a hip injury, but he is likely to play against Arsenal.

Neil Taylor has not been featured this season at all due to his injury, and you might see him in action against Arsenal.

Arsenal

Jack Wilshere still remains out, so Abou Diaby is likely to start ahead of him.

Wenger is keeping Kieran Gibbs sidelined as a precaution, and Nacho Monreal will play at his position.

He has also ruled out Podolski and Sagna, so Arsenal might have a little problem there.

Star Man

Michu (Swansea) : This deep-lying game maker has perhaps made a mark in the Premier league. In 31 appearances, Michu has scored 8 goals and has made 2 assists as well. Michu likes to play shorts passes but provides indirect set-piece threats. Though his passing and crossing is weak, he has great finishing abilities.

Santiago Cazorla (Arsenal) : The 28-year-old Spanish central attacking midfielder is not an easy one to handle for any defence. Cazorla’s fatal long shots are unstoppable. He has mentionable crossing, passing and dribbling skills which eventually lead him to assisting goals – or even scoring them. He can take direct free kicks and set-pieces and his midfield indicts make him troublesome for the other side. With him in the squad, Arsenal have a majorly strong midfield.

My prediction: 2 – 1 to Arsenal. Swansea have always provided tough resistance to Arsenal and the team will be in good form to win. Arsenal, on the other hand, has won at Munich so they will be in top form.  However, this match could turn out to be a close one.
