Ask anyone who has an inkling knowledge about football and watches Arsenal play, he will definitely say that Arsenal lack a strike force upfront who could assure them 25 goals a season at minimum. Arsene Wenger is known for converting stars into legends but he has been unable to find that spark in any youngster who could serve them at his full potential and hence Arsenal are looking to sign someone more experienced.
Arsenal have many good quality youth players – as do Chelsea and other Premier League clubs – who are out on loan gaining experience with the opportunity of coming back to their parent club and joining the first team, should they succeed in proving themselves.
One player who Arsenal can put hopes on is Chuba Akpom who is 18 years old and is here at Arsenal since when he was only 6. Akpom’s last six months have been spent serving short loan spells at Brentford and Coventry, where he has continued to impress football coaching and management staff, and the player has also captured the attention former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour.
Parlour said, “The young lad who’s been at Coventry these past few months, Chuba Akpom, he’s come up through the youth academy and is looking like a quality Arsenal player-in-the-making.”
So let’s hope that Parlour is right and Arsenal end up finding a new Henry in the making.
