Napoli striker Edinson Cavani has declared that he is happy at his club but he wants to keep other clubs interested by saying that if any club really wants to buy him, they will pay the release clause.
Cavani has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester City and Juventus following his successful performances at Napoli for the past few seasons.
Napoli are not willing to accept any offer below 63million euro (£54million), as that is his release clause.
Cavani gave an interview to Gazzetta dello Sport where he acknowledged that if any club really wants to sign him, this clause will not affect them.
‘If a club has a clear project and they want to focus on me, they can’t be frightened in front of this figure,’ he said.
‘For now, I’m not thinking about [my future],’ he added. ‘Then it will be up to the club to take into consideration what should be done…’
Cavani, like a loyal man, has further said that he would consider talking to Napoli whenever he will have to make a decision.
‘I am happy here,’ he said. ‘Napoli have given me a lot and I am trying to repay them. We’ll talk about it.’
Interestingly, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had admitted : ‘He is a player I like. He would cost a lot of money that’s for sure.
‘We can spend the money but I do not want to speak about Cavani because we have not made an enquiry for him.’
