Sir Alex: We’ll treat QPR like Real Madrid

Sir Alex

Sir Alex Ferguson insists he will take the trip to QPR just as seriously as the Champions League ties with Real Madrid.

Manchester United have a chance to go 15 points clear with Manchester City not in action until Sunday, but Sir Alex knows what his old rival Harry possesses. QPR are fighting for relegation and they will give United a right test.

“With Harry’s experience and his ability to judge players’ abilities, QPR have a better chance than most to survive,” Sir Alex stated at his pre-match press conference. “We’re going down there to win, though. That’s my job. There’s a good spirit and determination about us. We have to treat these games the same as if we’re playing Real Madrid. We want to win.

“We have a problem picking teams at the moment but that’s where we want to be. QPR are fighting for survival and we know it’s going to be a hard game. That’s what we need – we need to make sure we do our job right.”

Although the situation looks healthy for the Reds, there are plenty of tough tests ahead and QPR have already proved their steel by taking points off City, Tottenham and Chelsea since Redknapp’s arrival.
