Manchester United got knocked out by Real Madrid from Round of 16 of Champions League. The decision made by the referee to send Nani off completely shocked Sir Alex, players and the fans. Sir Alex according to Mike Phelan was too distraught to do a press conference after the match.
Today, in his weekly press conference, Fergie finally spoke about the referee’s decision. He said :
“It’s hard to keep your faith when you see what’s happened the last few years. It’s the third time we’ve been knocked out because of that. It’s not easy to take but we’re Manchester United and we have to get on with it. We now have an important issue of an FA Cup tie on Sunday. My job is to galvanise the troops, who were fantastic on Tuesday. So were the fans. We owe them a good performance.”

Going to the match, my mate and I agreed that we hoped the outcome of the match would not be determined by the referee. So I’m not surprised Sir Alex was too distraut to speak to the press after the match. I was so incensed, I approached two policemen who were on duty outside Old Trafford and told them that there was a balding guy in there, wearing a blue shirt, black shorts and spoke with a foriegn accent they needed to arrest. They immediately knew who I was talking about. I am sick and tired of spending my hard earned cash going to ‘big’ UEFA games only to come away feeling that I have been cheated so listen up UEFA, sort your bloody act out. WE ARE losing faith that Champions League games are played on a level playing field and 74,000 people at Old Trafford were so incensed by atrocious refereeing, they would have willingly paid any fine Fergie would have got had he spoken with the press.
It’s embarrassing to see each time we are determined our intention is robbed by referees.i propose that FA if not Manchester United strikes against UEFA and you will see them crawling begging our return. There are very grounds where they get a lot of returns in cash and Old Trafford is among them. And because of their greedy you wail see them begging come back United. I slept badly that night and had i been closer, you would have seen me hitting the snitch
