While his United squad prepares to face Fulham on Saturday in the FA Cup, Ferguson was present at Glasgow to scout Celtic’s star man.

It was rumoured back in October that Sir Alex Ferguson wanted to sign Wanyama. Also, Sir Alex’ chief scout Martin Ferguson has watched him play a lot of time this season.

While Ferguson was present in his native city, Celtic won 4-0 over Dundee in the Scottish Premier League, and Wanyama’s performance in the match was greatly impressive.

Though Celtic would really like to keep Wanyama whom they signed for only £900,000 from Beerschot in July 2011, but his worth has dramatically increased to £10million.

Wanyama has helped Celtic to qualify for the Champions League especially during their group stage fixture against FC Barcelona which Celtic won by 2-1.

Ferguson also attended the funeral of Celtic legend Sean Fallon. Fallon was the assistant manager to Jock Stein who helped Celtic win the European Cup in 1967.
