Chelsea forward Samuel Eto’o has revealed that he had almost signed for Arsenal, before he was persuaded by Coach Luis Aragones of Real Mallorca – a decision that changed his life as claimed by the player.
The latest Chelsea addition told The Sun: “I met Luis at a crucial moment in my life where I had to take the right direction – and thanks to him I did. I was about to sign that very afternoon at Arsenal and maybe I would have never been the player I am today. Luis picked me, then I ended up joining Barcelona. That decision changed everything.”
Samuel Eto’o went on to join Barcelona where he won a number of titles and then moved to Inter Milan where he won the prestigious treble. He became the most expensive player in the world as he earned the biggest wage at Anzhi, after which he moved to Chelsea.
