Arsenal’s trophy hopes were given full push yesterday by the heroics of Lukasz Fabianski when he stopped two crucial penalties in the penalty shootout against Wigan who didn’t give up till the last minute.
Fabianski’s contract at the Emirates Stadium is set to expire at the end of the season and the Pole is expected to move on from Arsenal in search of regular first-team football, having only made 31 Premier League appearances since joining seven years ago.
The Pole made only his ninth appearance in yesterday’s FA Cup semi-final against Wigan Athletic, in which he contributed with two saved penalties in the shoot-out to take Arsenal back to Wembley for the final next month.
Despite of the Gunners offering the Pole new deal with improved wages it has been reported that Fabianski is all set to say goodbye to Arsenal. Furthermore Estadio Deportivo has reported that Sevilla are keen to sign the 28 year old second choice goalkeeper from Arsenal who is almost at the top of their wish list this summer.
