Rooney’s book flops!

The recession in the footballers’ book market will never end as Wayne Rooney’s latest book flops in the market. The book sums up Rooney’s peak years including some historic events.

The publishers HarperCollins have said that only 6,000 copies of the book have been sold till now. ‘My Decade In The Premier League’ was released about six weeks ago.

The low sales come as a rather bizarre news as Rooney has remained in the news since the book has released: he got the England captaincy, marked ten years of his legendary entrance in the Premier league, scored his 200th club goal and is about to become a father for the second time.

HarperCollins are in a 12-year, £5 million and five-book deal with Wayne Rooney. The release of the book was to take place last year but was later postponed to this year.

This was Rooney’s second book in the series and after its release and fail, it is highly doubted that it will be followed by another book in the series.

Following this, Rooney also failed to sign a new contract with EA sport who have Lionel Messi, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Hart on the UK cover of their game FIFA 13. Rooney had been on the cover since 2005.

However, career-wise Rooney might just be enjoying another golden period as he teams up with Robin van Persie to form one of the most lethal attacking duos alive. Both the strikers do not only score goals but make assists as well.
