Manchester United’s key striker, Wayne Rooney, has joined back his team on the DHL Pre-season tour. He was away on EURO 2012 duty for England and missed th chance of joing United earlier. He was put to his place along with the rest of the squad at the training ground in Carrington. Rooney scored 35 goals from 44 appearances last season
United will face Everton when the BPL starts in two weeks. United are also hoping to win back the title from Manchester City this season. Sir Alex is hoping that Rooney will be in his best form to help United. United will now travel to Norway to face Valerenga onSunday. Three days after that, they will face the Catalan giants, FC Barcelona in Gothernburg. They will next play a final warm-up match against Hannover in Germany after which they will return to Manchester and prepare to face Everton.
United’s goalkeeper, David de Gea is also back from his international duty following shock exit of Spain from the Olympics football tournament group stage. Cleverly, Giggs and Rafael are still on international duty.
The new signings are also training in full form. Shinji Kagawa who joined from Dortmund has already scored his first goal while Nick Powel, the 18-year old youngster, was signed from Crewe and is learning from Scholes.
Sir Alex is also intending to sign a few more players. The list includes Lucas Moura whose transfer has now become a complicated issue.
