There has been long discussions on what Shinji Kagawa’s best position is to play for Manchester United. Some of the Red Devils suggests that he should be opted at the left hand side because Wayne Rooney is more influential in the hole behind the striker while some recommend him to play at number 10 as he can cut the defenses through his sharp turns and accurate through balls.
Kagawa has played for Japan on the left but he hasn’t been in great form at left for Manchester United. Although, Robin van Persie has presented him with his share of useful advice. Robin himself transformed himself from a Left Winger to a quality number 9. The Dutch striker said,
“Most players get frustrated when they don’t play in their position. They are out of their comfort zone but it is a good thing to get out of that. It is a test for those players because they are going into a new situation they aren’t used to. First they have to deal with it mentally because a reaction of many people is ‘this isn’t good, this isn’t my position, the manager doesn’t understand it’ but you have to make the most of where the manager plays you. So, for me, players who are all round and handle any situation in any game, those are the top players. If you can learn that from a young age, it is only a good thing.”
