Earlier this summer the highly rated and probably one of the best German youth talents admitted that he will like a move abroad, especially to a team like Arsenal who prefer playing free flowing football and with Arsenal this previous window looking for a stellar signing had Draxler on their radar. But Schalke cunningly demanded a staggering 70m for him.
The highly-rated 19-year-old revealed he was still committed to playing for Schalke, but was still open to a change of scenery in the near future if an offer came his way and that he was happy to stay at Schalke because of worries of jeopardizing his World Cup playing chances, with recent reports suggesting the issue destroyed any chances of a summer move.
In an interview he said, “I’ve still got to work a lot on myself and improve. I’m going to try to do that as much as possible and then we can reconsider in the New Year.”
On his worries for the selection of World cup he added, “The World Cup will take place at the end of the season and it always takes time to settle at a new club. In addition, I feel very good at Schalke, although our early season form has been poor.”
