It is true that Arsenal came out of their comfort zone last season when they had to prove a point of signing big players and spending the cash. Arsene Wenger at first thought of spending money on a world class striker but ended up signing Mesut Ozil. The German since then has been involved in many goals and most importantly has managed to change the mood around the club. But Arsenal splashing cash last season doesn’t mean that they’ll come out and buy another player for hefty transfer sum.
Wenger also invested a far small amount of casheesh in the youngster Yaya Sanogo. Injury and immaturity has limited the player to one senior appearance for Arsenal so far but news today suggests that Arsene Wenger is in for another youngster for the striking department.
Michy Batshuayi is yet another product of a golden generation of Belgian players. At 20 years of age he has already scored 32 goals in 80 appearances for Standard Liege. He’s also bagged five goals in just 10 appearances for the Belgian under 21 national side.
The Guardian claims that as Olivier Giroud form has hit a low and Arsene Wenger is now in search for a new striker who is Belgium’s Michy Batshuayi of Standard Liège, but have yet to offer the amount stipulated by his release clause.
