Today both of the managers Villanova and Mourinho appeared in front of the press for a pre match conference .Today Real Madrid will collide with Barcelona to decide who will win the Spanish Super cup.Barcelona has a clear advantage of 3-2 from the first leg but Mourinho is confident that his boys will reverse the deficit .
Although Tito Villanova thinks that its difficult task to face Real Madrid at Bernabéu after their painful lost to Getafe because Real Madrid at the moment are like wounded lions and are ready to pounce .Villanova thinks that his men have to score at Bernabéu if they want to win.
he told the press that
“We have to score at the Bernabéu if we want to win the Super Cup”
About the condition of Puyol Villanova said
“Puyol will be there if the doctors say he can play, but we won’t run any risks.”
Villanova thinks that Real Madrid are very vulnerable because of their poor start and will come hard at them .He told the press that
“The games we’ve played in the past against Madrid don’t really matter. There’s never a clear favourite and sometimes the team that is favoured loses. We know how hard it is to play at the Bernabéu, they’ll come out to score and push men forward from the first minute. To win the Super Cup we have to score in Madrid, otherwise we’ll lose the title. If we are unable to maintain ball possession we’ll have a terrible time.”
About song Villanova told that he still requires time to fit in and they will provide ample time to him .Villanova thinks that he still need to learn how to play in Barcelona system .
“we’ll see if he gets some playing time, it all depends on how the game is going.The pivot position is very important to us, it’s a well-defined role. Song still has to learn how to play that role within our system.”
However Mourinho believes that his team will try to play well at Bernabéu and Mourinho thinks that Barcelona and Real Madrid are the two best team in the world with some fantastic players which will make the tie more interesting
“The tie is open. The first leg result can’t change. In the league, we lost the last match at home. In the cup, we lost here and in Barcelona I don’t know how we didn’t win… We drew in the Super Cup and again I don’t how we didn’t win in Barcelona. We are both great teams with some of the best players and anything can happen”.
Although Mourinho considers this tie a tough one and believes that it is difficult to device a plan for such a big game.
“It is very difficult to make plans for matches and it is tough to makes things go your plan. You don’t know what will happen and matches change on small details. A game plan is very difficult when they have the ball, we have to try and defend well and, when we have it, we have to try and play well, with freedom, and score. If you can call it a plan, it is a basic plan. When they have the ball, defend and, when we have it, we try to score straight away”,
About the Luka Modric signing Mourinho told the press that
“He is in a normal physical condition for someone who hasn’t trained with his team in a while or even played a lot. He has got minutes under his belt for his national team but nothing else. I think that, given his profile, he won’t need a lot of time to get himself into shape. I think he’ll be ready shortly”
About the dismal performance of Real Madrid Mourinho told that
“In the first league game, our game was acceptable without being spectacular. The team played well in the second half. We drew but we deserved to win. That is normal in my opinion. In the second game, we played well against tough opposition. We sat back in the first half, and the second half was very balanced and, in my opinion, good despite the result and the fact we lost 3-2 which leaves the game wide open. Acceptable too. In the third game, the team’s performance was unacceptable in all aspects, concentration, tactically… for me it was unacceptable”.
