Ever since Sir Alex has hung his boots the Wayne Rooney saga looks as if it has calmed down to a great extent. Credit goes to David Moyes for handling this situation perfectly and didn’t let Wayne go when especially with the poor transfer window show by the Red Devils. But it’s inevitable this issue will rise again as reports today have suggested that big moneybags Real Madrid have offered 50m plus a player for Wayne Rooney.
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has set his sights on Man United striker Wayne Rooney and has been given the backing of his Bernabeu club to make a significant bid for the 28 year old Old Trafford star. Di Maria and Khedira are apparently players that Moyes is keen on, and one of those players plus an extra £20m will surely test the resolve of Manchester United’s desire to hold on to Rooney.
According to DailyStar, Ancelotti reportedly sees Rooney as a preferable strike option to Benzema, and Real Madrid also feel that the popular Englishman will be highly marketable and provide a great deal of sponsorship deals and shirt sales. As such, Real Madrid will be prepared to maintain his £250k-a-week salary for another four years.
