Tottenham Hotspur

Hugo Lloris: The goalkeeper did not get much to save. 6

Assou-Ekotto: His pass accuracy was fairly average, but he made a few shots which however, did not yield any result. 6.5

Vertonghen: Provided fair defensive contribution and was the better Belgian in the match. 8

Dawson: He was fairly dominant in the defense, ruining much of Arsenal’s chances. 8

Walker: He occasionally went upfront to aid the attack, and was good at defence. 7

Siggurdson: His attempts were very noticeable, and his through-ball led to Spurs’ first goal. 7

Parker: His accuracy was fairly good, but he committed five fouls in the game. He made a good forward link-up during the game. 6

Dembele: He made great passes, and his tackles were very impressive as well. 7

Lennon: Though not very dominant in most of the first half, Lennon quickly took charge at the end of the first half, exploiting Arsenal defence in every possible way. He scored the second goal by beating Sczcesny. He was subbed in the 96th minute. 7.5

Bale: He was occasionally sighted being under control, but when he scored, he easily beat the Arsenal defence. He was well-placed and avoided the offside-trap smartly. 7.5

Adebayor: He was way less aggressive for someone playing as the sole striker upfront. He could have used much more chances from the midfield. His injury in the 65th minute led him to being substituted.

SUBS

Defoe: He took Adebayor’s place after he got injured, and he added the missing touch to the attack by utilizing many chances. However, none was finished well. 7

William Gallas: He came in very late to make a mark.

 

 

Arsenal

Sczcesny: He was occasionally seen far away from his position and that was threatening for his own side at times. 5

Carl Jenkinson: Jenkinson had many a times linked the Arsenal game upfront. However, his performance was not very similar in the second half and he was substituted at the 59th minute. 6.5

Mertesacker: Though he scored the only Arsenal goal, he was not doing very well on the defence. 5

Vermaelen: He appeared to be under much pressure throughout the game, and could not maintain a solid defensive wall at the back. 5

Nacho Monreal: He did well in the first half, marking Lennon smartly; and also made a number of attempts to link upfront. However, he made some huge errors in first and second goal. 4

Aaron Ramsey: He was fairly good on the wing, going back to the defence and going front on attack – he was always there where he was needed. He made a goal attempt as well but failed to nail it. 6

Mikel Arteta: Arteta did a fairly good job marking Bale for most of the game, and going back on defence. He was substituted at the 76th minute. 6

Theo Walcott: He provided the assist for the only Arsenal goal and was occasionally seen making an impression on the attack. However, he could not get a final product. 6.5

Jack Wilshere: He was excellent in the box where he made impressive dribbles and accurate passes. He was perhaps the best Arsenal player on the pitch. 7

Santi Cazorla: He had much more responsibility on his shoulder but he did not make much of a mark in the game. 6.5

Oliver Giroud: He needed to be much more aggressive up front but he lacked it and could not really score a goal. 6.4

SUBS

Thomas Rocisky: Just as he entered the pitch, he made the Arsenal attack better. He made quick passes which were fairly accurate. 7

Lukas Podolski: Podolski could have contributed much more to the game. 5
