Real Madrid were very active all over the summer notching up quality players and buying the world’s most expensive player in Gareth Bale. Isco, Ilarramendi, Casemiro were alos part of their hefty shopping spree. As they had landed a number of quality players, Real Madrid had to offload Benzema to make more space for the new signings and in that case they had to sell Mesut Ozil to Arsenal.
The lingering rumours of Real Madrid’s interest in Liverpool striker Luis Suarez have been put to bed by Florentino Perez, for now, and he has confirmed the club will be looking to offload players this January or next summer.
“We’re delighted with the current squad. We’re not going to sign anyone in January. We’ve bought a lot of players and some will have to leave,” said Perez.
There have been some news today of Benzema wanting to leave as he was subject to some boos during his last few games by the Real supporters as they feel he isn’t giving his 100%. Xabi Alonso can be another player on his way out as he will be replaced by Illarramendi, but most likely Angel Di Maria will have to leave as he will have to fight for his place extremely hard to get his name on the team sheet instead of Bale.
As Arsenal were linked to a couple of these players already and taking into account Perez’s quotes, it won’t be surprising to see Arsenal welcoming another Madridsta.
