Ozil handed ‘Player of the match’ but still criticized by legends.

Arsenal decimated Newcastle United yesterday with some quality performances by some of the players who were accused of being underperforming. Arsenal now have managed to take command over the race for top 4 as a couple of weeks ago Everton were pressing high. Now it’s a four point cushion in favor of Arsenal from the Merseysiders who are on number 5.

Arteta was pleased with the performance and said, “This was a good win. We had most of the chances and the possession.”

Although you would think that the obsession of targeting The German, Mesut Ozil is getting out of hand. He was first criticized for his poor work rate but even after receiving the ‘Man of the match’ award he wasn’t much lauded by the Sky Sports pair.

The Sky Sports analysts remain unconvinced, though, as former Manchester United captain Gary Neville acknowledged his class, but only summed up his outing on Monday as “okay”.

While the former player from Liverpool, Jamie Carragher said, “He lacks that power and pace but he’s neat and tidy.”
