There is slightly bad news for Arsenal as the move for Julian Draxler looks like to be hanging in the middle and going nowhere. With widespread reports they’ve reached deadlock with Schalke over the fee – so Miroslav Klose is now being linked with a move to the Emirates.
With Schalke playing hardball over their fee for Draxler – they are holding out for a figure approaching the player’s £37million release cause which kicks in in the summer – Arsene Wenger is looking at his options.
And vastly experienced Germany striker Klose is reportedly a prime target for a loan move from Lazio, though at 35 he is very much a short-term option.
There’s no questioning his experience with 130 caps for Germany, 98 appearances for Bayern Munich and 69 for Lazio to name a few.
With two league wins under his belt, runner-up medals in the Champions League and FIFA World Cup as well as holding the record for the second all-time World Cup top scorer is he the man Arsenal need to keep in touching distance at the top.
