Official: Arsenal to sign Colombian Striker

The talkSPORT have run a news-item on their website that states that the North Londoners are very interested in signing the Colombian striker Jackson Martinez who is worth £30million. The source of this is none other than Martinez’ Italian agent.

Martinez has attracted interest from a lot of European teams since his arrival in Europe and it is not very surprising considering his goal tally: 46 league goals for Porto since arriving at the club from Chiapas in 2012.

The striker is set to receive even more limelight since the 27-year-old will be the main striker for his Colombian side due to the absence of the Monaco striker Radamel Falcao.

It was rumoured that Roma had the highest chances of landing the striker with Chelsea and Tottenham linked too, but his agent Peppino

Tirri claims that Arsenal and Valencia are leading the chase to sign him.

Tirri told Calciomercato.it: “In Italy we have had very little contact, but for sure there have not been any offers made by Roma.
“There are, instead, opportunities abroad – Arsenal and Valencia in particular are very interested in Jackson Martinez.”
