OFFICIAL: Arsenal joins race for Atletico Ace

Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger has decided to join in the hunt for highly rated Atletico Madrid ace Saul Niguez. Now is it that Arsene Wenger has lost out on his only January target Draxler or he wants Schalke to give in on a lower fee. It is yet to be seen.

The 19-year-old, currently on loan at Rayo Vallecano, is already being courted by a number of Premier League clubs with names mentioned including Manchester United and Chelsea and most notably Liverpool.

But it seems that Arsenal are in the race too, according to reports in Spain. The Gunners are understood to have held talks with the player’s father, a former Elche player, Luis Antonio Niguez.

Although the Spain Under-21 star was born in Elche he has spent his entire playing career in the Spanish capital. He started his youth career at Real Madrid then moved across the city to Atletico in 2008. He made his professionl debut in 2010 with Atletico B, appearing 70 times and scoring 8 goals. He progressed to the first team in 2012 and made just two appearances before moving out on loan to Rayo, where he has gained regular game time in a season long loan.
