Reports are that Manchester United are ready to summit a 65 million bid to bring back Cristiano Ronaldo to Old Trafford .Actually its their shirt sponsors “Nike” who are willing to pay a healthy amount to reunite Ronaldo with his old club.
Manchester United officials met with the Nike Officials yesterday to plot a mega bid of £65m. Nike representatives flew to London to talk about the renewal of their shirt sponsorship agreement with Manchester United and have given the green signal to Manchester United that they are financially ready for the swap .
Nike is very much desperate to bring Ronaldo back to the biggest club that wear their logo .It could be a publicity stunt but they can kill two bird with one stone.
Nike strongly believes that their brand will become more stronger when C-Roanldo will wear the Nike brand United T-shirt .
United’s 13 year contract worth £303m will expire in 2015 and Nike is trying hard to write some history within this tenor.
United would be looking for at least double that figure and maybe even three times the next time around.
Nike could even renegotiate the deal early so United have the cash this summer.
Manchester United also knows that the presence of Ronaldo will also increase the sponsorship values with other sponsors .
There are just only two years remaining in Ronaldo’s current contract and he has refused to sign a new one ,so the possibilities truly are wide open.
