Luis Nani has turned out to be a top target for Zenit St. Petersburg after they failed to sign the highly rated Brazilian attacker, Hulk.
Zenit have failed not just once but twice when they tried to sign Nani. The talks collapsed twice and Sir Alex is not willing to give away his player at this moment.
By the end of the transfer period here in England, the transfer looked dead. However now Zenit are ready to launch a £30 million bid to sum up the deal as the Russian transfer period has still not ended.
United have already rejected two offers above £20 million but might agree to the bid if it reaches £30 million and the payment is right.
This move would clearly affect United’s latest formation which plays a winger on the side and especially when Danny Welbeck did not really work at that position. However, Nani is still struggling to sign new contract. Keep in mind that United would not get to buy any other winger to replace Nani.
Nani had joined United from Sporting Lisbon in 2007. He has two years left on his contract but is demanding for a significant pay rise. United are not very willing to meet his demands and this might turn out to be a golden chance for Zenit.
Nani had scored 10 goals in 40 appearances for United in all competitions. He is right-footed but is mostly utilized on the left wing.
