Modric deal almost final

The Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder, who scored four goals and made five assists for Spurs in forty games, is heading toward Real Madrid now. His advisers will meet the Spanish side on Thursday to discuss his future.

Spurs are demanding £40 million. Madrid, however, will hopefully rise their £27 million bid but not as much as Spurs wants. The La Liga winners are sure Modric will join them.

PSG told Spurs two weeks ago that they will give them the price they are asking for. Chelsea has also shown interest. However, their interests were not entertained.

Modric has now continued training after missing a few training sessions and being fined for that. He did not join his team on their flight to Los Angeles on the pre-season tour. He has supposedly apologized to Andre Villa Boas for missing the training and angered the chairman.

Rumours suggest that Modric is angry at Spurs for including him in the pre-season squad while he is considering moving to Real Madird. According to him, he “wasn’t expected to join the tour”.

Modric still has four years

left on his contract and Spurs says that he will only be allowed to leave if there is a good bid for him. During the 2011-12 season, Modric was ‘not concentrating’ on Spurs due to the bids that came from Chelsea in the transfer season.

AVB is also finding replacements as Modric intends to leave. He is trying to sign Shakhtar Donetsk’s Willian or Fulham’s Moussa Dembele.
