Arsenal are on top of the league at the moment and that says all about their quality of football which they have offered since the start of the season. The tides have turned around by Wenger in his favor since the day he signed one of the cleverest signings of the transfer window in Mesut Ozil. And now, not only the fans but players as well are returning him the favor.
An article by Michael Owen yesterday in The Telegraph has caused a lot of anger in Arsenal’s camp. Owen said they did not strike him as a top-four side, that none of their defenders would get into an all-star XI, and that if Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud reverted to the players they were last season, the Gunners would be in trouble.
The truth is that Owen’s former club is now facing the real music with Alex Ferguson out of the equation who could win them the title with this squad.
There is no question about Manchester United’s tough start to the season but comparing them to Arsenal’s squad, Owen’s comments should have been aimed at his former club and not the Arsenal as they are finally proving everyone wrong with their quality.
