Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has ruled out all speculations linking him to other clubs, and has revealed that he will not be leaving the club.
He has been linked to a number of European clubs, including a rumour that he might return to Germany and play for his home-club.
However, he revealed that he is very happy in North London.
“A change is not an issue,” he said according to The Metro.
“Our manager Arsene Wenger gives me absolute confidence, I play every game. I can think of nothing else, but to stay at Arsenal.”
Despite a few poor performances like that against Tottenham, Mertesacker is a permanent member of Wenger’s starting XI.
Thomas Vermaelen and Wojciech Szczesny were dropped after the defeat, but he still played against Bayern Munich and Swansea, and such performances have been good.
