Your preferred mufc starting XI vs West Ham United ? P.S No

Valencia,Nani,Vidic and Kagawa coz out due to injuries and no Scholes coz suspended so pls don’t include them.

Scoring the first goal against Manchester United this season is an absolute no-no. In the league alone they have come back 6 times from behind to win the match. Teams scoring first against the Red Devils brace themselves for an onslaught for the rest of the match. Norwich took the lead and held onto it with a brilliant performance last week and Sir Alex Ferguson duly acknowledged the fact that his team were second best. This weekend, however was a completely different story. Struggling QPR took the lead against United and ended up losing the match 3-1 the match by an Anderson inspired Manchester United. Manchester City drew with Chelsea on Sunday which meant United ended the week back on the top of the league. West Ham United won promotion last season and the team is determined to stay in England’s top flight for the foreseeable future. Sam Allardyce and his men have played decent football this season. Before the defeat to Spurs on Sunday they were an impressive 7th in the league. They have a difficult run in the league with European Champions Chelsea the visitors on Saturday.

The habit of conceding first and then making a comeback was in full display against QPR after a brief hiatus. The London side took the lead and eventually succumbed 3-1 at final whistle. United have not been poor defensively but slight lapses in concentration allows the opposition to score. Ferguson has stressed the importance of not giving the opposition a head start and yet the players fail to see the importance. It is as if the players only begin the match after going a goal behind. Fletcher started his first premier league game in a year after the serious illness which nearly ended the Scottish international’s career. He gave United the lead after Evans had equalized. Anderson, who started the game on the bench came on in the second half and changed the whole complexion of the game. His determination led to United’s 3rd goal which sealed the win. He will be a definite starter on Wednesday. Scholes had a rare off day against QPR and Cleverly might partner the Brazilian. Persie and Rooney have hit a lean patch on the goal front but with Evans adding to his goal tally United are covered. Ferguson will hope his side maintains a clean sheet against West Ha which they have not been able to do since early October.

Since taking over from Avram Grant, the former Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has reigned over a successful period for the London club. He won promotion last year after defeating Blackpool in the playoffs. Since returning to the top flight West Ham have been brilliant and have a long way to ensure that won’t be going back to the Championship. Kevin Nolan, club captain has been in inspired form this season and has contributed with good performances but also with goals. Mark Noble has also been great this season. He is a willing runner in the middle of the park. The defense is also a strong point for the London club with Jaaskelainen in superb form. They have shipped in fewer goals than Manchester United at the current point, which given United’s wretched defensive displays is not a valuable asset but nonetheless is a very commendable feat. On Sunday they were poor against London rivals Spurs and paid the price. Andy Carroll, on loan from Liverpool scored his first goal for the club on Sunday. The manager will be hoping it is the first of many for the tall English striker. The West Ham fans chanted disgraceful chants about the violence in Lazio which was condemned and the club management will be hoping no such scenes are repeated by the fans.
TEAM NEWS

Manchester United – Antonio Valencia has been ruled out for this match with a hip injury. Vidic and Kagawa are the only long term absentees. Ferdinand and Evans resumed their partnership at the weekend and are expected to start in the middle of defense with the tireless Brazilian Rafael on the right and French international Evra on the left. Scholes’s performance was a bit indifferent on Saturday might have to make way for the superb Anderson. Cleverly, an unused substitute against QPR may start along side with Carrick and goal scorer Fletcher also in the picture. Welbeck and Young were poor at the weekend but Ferguson is short of alternatives with Valencia and Nani on the sidelines. Super sub Hernandez might get a starting berth with Rooney upfront with Perise being rested.

West Ham United – The first thing Allardyce did after taking over the club was make the defense rigid. He wants to ensure that the opposition finds it difficult to score. Winston Reid and James Collins have been pillars in defense with McCartney also solid. Noble and Diame have a good understanding between them which is one of the reasons West Ham have been so successful this season. Matthew Jarvis, the young skillful winger has been an extremely useful outlet on the wings. Maiga, the Mali striker has been the pick of the strikers and will be hoping to make his mark against the league leaders. It is a bit unfortunate that Ravel Morrison, termed as the best youth talent to come out of the Manchester United academy since Paul Scholes has not been able to showcase his talent since leaving the club. Carroll scored his first goal of the season and will be looking to take advantage of the indecisiveness of the United defense.
IMPORTANT-MAN

West Ham United – Kevin Nolan – Under former Bolton manager Sam Allardyce, Kevin Nolan has hit good form for the Hammers. He has been one of the primary reasons to the London club’s great start to the season. Not only has the Englishman been among the goals but also has been a solid figure in the middle of the park. For West Ham to get anything from this game Nolan will have to be at his best. Nolan along with Noble will be key for West Ham in the game.

Manchester United – Anderson– Despite the presence of Rooney, Persie, Young, Welbeck it was the arrival on the Brazilian midfielder which turned the game in Manchester United’s favor. His purposeful running in the middle of the park provided the impetus required. United were pretty lackluster in the game but Anderson’s arrival changed all that. He has started to show the kind of talent for which Ferguson paid big money to Porto.
