Venue and Timings

The match kicks off at the Goodison Park on Sunday, October 28th, 2012 at 13:30 hours BST.

Liverpool

Winning 1 – 0 over Reading is not exactly what we could expect from a team that has won eighteen Premier League titles.

Jose Reina is doubtful for this derby match but he might play as he was rested in Liverpool’s Europa fixture.

Borini, Kelly and Lucas will not play tomorrow as they are sidelined due to their injuries.

Rodgers could play the same team that won against Reading but that would mean he would have to trust Wisdom, Sterling and Suso as they will be playing their first Merseyside derby.

Allen and Sahin will also be playing their first Merseyside derby match.

Everton

You can easily call Everton as one of those teams who can exploit their opponents to the maximum before defeating them, if they do defeat them. However, their last fixture had ended as a draw against Queens Park Rangers.

Fellaini, Gibson and Hibbert could all be back in the squad. However, Hibbert might not get to play as he lacks experience.

Gibson could not be played if Osman plays as he will take his place in the left of the midfield.

Jelavic will be upfront and supporting him would be either Naismith or Anichebe through the midfield.

Star Man

Luis Suarez (Liverpool) : The 25-year-old Uruguayan attacking midfielder is not an easy one to handle for any defence. Suarez can provide some fatal indirect set-pieces threats. His wonderful dribbling skills have enabled this man to scored 9 goals in the 12 assists he has made in all competition. For the Everton side to play tomorrow, victory could be ensured if they control this man, which is pretty impossible. However, Suarez occasionally plays the dirty game and gets fouled.

Marouane Fellaini (Everton) : With 3 goals and 1 assist in 7 appearances, Fellaini is a threat for any side he plays against. He plays as an attacking midfielder and his aerial ability is magnificent. His headers clearly reflect that. Fellaini provided with a good counter attacking threat but like Suarez, gets fouled a lot. Though his tackling is good, it earns him a yellow card occasionally.

My prediction: 2 – 2. Derby matches are the hardest to predict as you get to witness every kind of possible actions from red cards to penalties. Liverpool could be dominant at some places in the game but victory for them could be difficult at Goodsion Park.
