Arsenal vs. West Ham United – Match Preview
Here is some midweek Barclay Premier League bit for the Gunners and the Hammers.
Venue and Timings:
The match will kick-off at the Emirates on 23rd January 2013 at 1945 GMT (24th January 2013 0045 PST and 0115 IST).
Lukas Podolski and Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain are back in action and they might be used against the Hammers to test their fitness level.
Mikel Arteta and Philip Coquelin are both injured so Abou Diaby could be used. However, if his fitness level is not up to the mark, Mikel Arteta could be rushed.
Giroud could be used upfront instead of Walcott after he proved beneficial for his side.
West Ham United
West Ham have no new injuries ahead of them except for Marouane Chamakh who will play against his own club.
Carlton Cole could be used upfront instead of Chamakh which means Andy Carol will still not play.
Joey O’Brien is fit and will play at left-back.
West Ham 1 – 3 Arsenal
West Ham 0 – 3 Arsenal
Arsenal 1 – 0 West Ham
Arsenal 2 – 0 West Ham
West Ham 1 – 2 Arsenal
Theo Walcott (Arsenal) : The 23-year old England attacking midfielder and center-forward has made quite a mark in the Premier League this season. He has appeared in 9 matches in which he has scored 8 goals and made 6 assists. His transition to the attack has proved benficial for Wenger considering his excellent finishing skills and his key passes. Walcott provides good counter attack threat. he likes to play as a dribbler and he enjoys making short passes.
Joe Cole (West Ham United) : Joe Cole has proved to be a good addition to the West Ham squad as the attacking midfielder’s long shots and passing ability is very strong. He likes to do layoffs and his holding onto the ball is very strong.
My prediction: 2 – 1 to Arsenal. Arsenal will be looking to bounce back after two defeats at the hands of the big giants and they will be doing every possible thing in their hands to give the Hammers a tough time. The Hammers will struggle to keep the score low.
