Manchester United to battle Dortmund for Portugese Sensation

Benfica are facing a headache right now as the Portuguese club’s player Nemanja Matic is on Manchester United’s radar. The Red Devils want to lure him away in January. Also, Borussia Dortmund are also interested in signing the player.

Nemanja Matic was sold to Benfica by Chelsea as part of the deal to sign David Luiz. Matic was a reserve player at Chelsea then.

Manchester United are facing serious midfield woes as the defending champions lie on 9th position in the table, 12 points behind the leaders Arsenal. The Red Devils dismantled their record against Everton at home after losing 1-0 to them at the Old Trafford in the 85th minute. Everton inflicted the kind of pain that United used to give other teams last night. The Red Devils were over-run in the midfield and they felt the the absence of Michael Carrick and Phil Jones a little too much.

Marouane Fellaini, on the other hand, needs a wrist surgery that will also keep him out for a while. Apparently, he was signed to solve United’s midfield crisis.

The 25-year-old Serbian plays as a defensive central midfielder – something that United exactly need so if the Champions are even to fight Dortmund for his signing, they must do it.
