Sir Alex very happy on Ferdinand's snub

Sir Alex Ferguson’s weekly press conference at Carrington has revealed a lot of good news for the fans this week as most of the players are fully fit, especially Robin van Persie and Phil Jones.

Robin van Persie collided with a television camera during United’s clash with QPR and it was rumoured that he might not be fit. However, the Dutchman has trained all week and is clear to feature against Norwich on Saturday.

Phil Jones had also picked up an ankle injury against Reading, but he is now fine. He will, however, not play against Norwich tomorrow.

Phil Jones starts running today,” Sir Alex revealed. “He’s got a fight on his hands to be ready for Tuesday [Real Madrid] but we’ll give him every chance. He won’t be available for tomorrow [Norwich].

“We have no injury issues. Robin van Persie has trained this week – he’s available for tomorrow. His hip was very tender but he’s okay now.

“Tomorrow is an important one because Tuesday will look after itself. It’s an occasion on Tuesday whereas tomorrow is the mundane practical situation in that we need to win.”
