Manchester United manager David Moyes has revealed that he is yet to decide whether Shinji Kagawa will be fit enough to play against Newcastle on Saturday.
The manager faces major concerns ahead of the clash against the Magpies as Wayne Rooney is also suspended for the match.
“Shinji has had a sickness and has been unwell,” Moyes revealed at his weekly conference. “I will see how he is tomorrow, we hope to have him available, but he wasn’t too good after the game.”
United are planning to recover from a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Everton and they would like to bag a victory against Newcastle who lost 3-0 to Swansea.
“It could be a bad time to face Newcastle, but they also had a defeat to Swansea,” said Moyes. “They are coming to Old Trafford and we will make it as hard and as difficult for them as possible.”
Yet Moyes believes that his side did not under-perform against his former side.
“There were chances in the [Everton] game that we didn’t take and the result could have quite easily have been different. I think if they [the fans] watched the game then they will have got lots of belief from it.
“This was our first defeat in 13 games and I hope we can do something similar in the coming games.
“We have got another game very quickly, they are good players who have been here before, they know what is expected of them and they will do the right thing.”
