Premier League Champions Manchester City want to sign Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson, Daily Mirror has reported. City had signed Jack Rodwell and Scott Sinclair last summer, and they would like to add another right-back to their squads.
City were interested in Jenkinson even before he joined the North Londoners from Charlton for £1million two years ago.
Arsenal, on the other hand, could sell Bacary Sagna this summer and sign Feyenoord’s Daryl Janmaat.
This has alerted other clubs to check for Jenkinson, who was called up for the England squad earlier this season.
Jenkinson might not want to leave Arsenal after seeing what happened with Samir Nasri when he left. Nasri was a first team player at
Arsenal, while at City, he is mostly used from the bench. Jenkinson could possibly stay at Arsenal where he enjoys more playing time.
