Venue and Timings
The match kicks off at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday, November 22nd, 2012 at 1745 hours BST (0045 hours PST and 0115 hours IST).
Team News
Manchester City
Samir Nasri is very unlikely to take his place in the team.
Aleksandar Kolarov could replace Gael Clichy. Clichy had picked up an ankle injury this weekend.
Lescott, Milner and Richards remain unavailable.
Jack Rodwell has, however, recovered from his hamstring injury and is available to start.
Manchester City might only change their defensive line-up as the team takes on Madrid at home as they defeated Aston Villa 5 – 0.
Real Madrid
Since Higuain and Marcelo are both injured, Mourinho will have to deploy Benzema on attack and Coentrao at left-back.
Khedira scored after coming as a substitute so he would be looking to replace Modric.
Di Maria could replace Callejon
Otherwise, they would keep their team the same after they thrashed Athletic Bilbao 5 – 1 at home.
Recent Meetings
Real Madrid 3 – 2 Manchester City
Star Man
Yaya Toure (Manchester City) : Yaya Toure is no doubt one of the biggest assets that City possess. With his key passing, he is a threat to any defender as he picks up empty slots to create lethal passes. His direct shots across the yard are almost unstoppable for any keeper in the entire Premier League. Toure does not like to dive a lot and is a clean player.
Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) : Ronaldo is known to be one of the quickest, smartest and the most skillful winger and striker who can perhaps degrade any defender in the world. He could score goals at Camp Nou during El-Clasicos’ to threaten their biggest rivals. So the man who is good at aerial duels, long shots, direct free kicks, dribbling and free kicks – Manchester City’s defence is no match.
My prediction: 2 – 1 to Real Madrid. Considering Manchester City’s performances in Europe, it is less likely for them to win this fixture, even if it is at home. Real Madrid will be in full form, even without Higuain. You may expect a heated battle with Madrid victorious in the end.Rich Text AreaToolbarBold (Ctrl + B)Italic (Ctrl + I)Strikethrough (Alt + Shift + D)Unordered list (Alt + Shift + U)Ordered list (Alt + Shift + O)Blockquote (Alt + Shift + Q)Align Left (Alt + Shift + L)Align Center (Alt + Shift + C)Align Right (Alt + Shift + R)Insert/edit link (Alt + Shift + A)Unlink (Alt + Shift + S)Insert More Tag (Alt + Shift + T)Toggle spellchecker (Alt + Shift + N)▼
