Manchester City to rescue Arsenal

The Metro are reporting that Arsenal might have been offered an alternative for their departing captain Thomas Vermaelen. Manchester City are selling their central-defender MajitaNastasic and Arsene Wenger is considering signing him.

Nastasic became Manchester City’s player of the season in 2013 but the defender only made 13 appearances for the English Champions last season. The reports claim that Nastasic was on Arsenal’s radar since he was 16 years old and the blue side of Manchester are planning to either sell him or send him on loan with a permanent deal at the end of the loan.
Wenger has already admitted that Vermaelen will most probably leave this summer. Chambers was assumed to be his replacement but Wenger claimed yesterday that Chambers would be used in the midfield.
City have not – as per yet – set a price tag on their defender but it is reported that clubs like Juventus, Galatasaray and Inter Milan are interested as well, so his price tag will not be less.
