Manchester United had a shaky start to the season in all competitions as they have been failing to maintain their own set standards, which is understandable due to the change in management. But to ensure the instant success the club needs some world class quality signings in a few areas which require strengthening.
The first area which David Moyes would need strengthening is the midfield area. Current midfield of Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini is static and United often get caught sleeping without any useful delivery to the front 4.
Ruud Gullit feels United need to strengthen in January if they want to challenge for the title.
“I can fully understand that Moyes has now asked the board to sanction the purchase of three top-class footballers in the winter to keep the team competing at the highest level in England and Europe. I have reason to believe that funds are being made available at United and they should because it is a necessity.”
Ruud also said, that after United signs the required necessities it will be easier to let go Wayne Rooney to follow his heart as the reports of him rejecting the renewal of contract was an internet hit few days ago.
