Portuguese midfielder William Carvalho has been heavily linked to the Premier League this season with the three big giants interested in him – Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
His club Sporting Lisbon are insisting on selling him only if a club wishes to meet his £37m release clause. However, it is now being reported that Sporting could lower their demands after the club held a board meeting to discuss the future of the youngster.
Since August has already began, Sporting will be looking to quickly sell the player so that they can invest the money back in their squad. Also, the club wants his fee as a whole and not in instalments.
It is being reported that Arsenal are willing to meet with the club demands to sign the player. Previously, a £24m bid was made by Arsenal last month and it is being rumoured that they will make another offer of somewhat the same value.
However both Chelsea and United possess the financial power to make a larger bid for the player so Arsenal could face some competition.
