The Gunners have landed in the quality German international and Real Madrid’s number 10 Mesut Ozil and they are still looking to strengthen their squad with a free agent striker. The Gunners were unsuccessful however in terms of signing Demba Ba from Chelsea, the striker they wanted to add on loan.
He follows Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez as top strikers Arsenal were linked with over the course of the summer, and it has to be a slight concern that the club are slightly light in the department after Lukas Podolski was ruled out injured for 10 weeks.
As we all have an idea how Arsenal lack strength and depth upfront and with their strike department will be pretty bulnerable with an injury to Giroud. So Arsenal have decided to land a quality striker for covering up for the French man.
Apparently Arsenal manager have stepped up his pursuit for Ciprian Marica who was earlier linked with a potential move for The Gunners. Marica is a 27-year-old Romanian international with 21 goals in 63 matches. He was playing for Schalke last season, where he scored six goals. He once cost Stuttgart £6 million, when they bought him from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Another striker on Arsenal’s radar is Joseba Llorente who was once near-prolific for Villareal, scoring 19 goals in 2008/09, 15 coming in La Liga. He had spent three years at Real Valladolid, where he netted 57 in three seasons.
Now let’s see whether Arsene Wenger adds to his current group of player but most probably a surprise is waiting.
