There was a speculation that Manchester United’s new signings Robin Van Persie and Shingi Kagawa would miss the game against Wigan after sustaining some slight strains during their international duties.Shingi Kagawa sustained a slight back strain and was substituted as a precautionary measure .whereas on the other hand Van Persie also received a slight knock and was substituted but later on the Holland coach clarified that it was a precautionary measure.
Good news is this that every Manchester United player is fit except Jones and Smalling .Jones recently went through an knee surgery after sustaining a knee injury in the training and is out for ten weeks .About the condition of Jones and Smalling Sir Alex said in the Friday’s press conference that
“On the injury front, everyone’s fit, apart from the ones we know about Jones and Smalling.”.
“Jones was a bad blow for us. He got an injury in training last weekend and he’ll be out for eight to 10 weeks.”
“We expect Smalling to be back training by the end of the month. There’s a little bit of comfort in that sense, given our centre-back situation. But with Jonny [Evans] back we’re in a better position than we were a couple of weeks ago”.
However another good news is that Fletcher is making a speedy recovery and is included in the squad and the addition of Jonny Evans in the squad is a certain consolidation for Sir Alex.
“Darren’s in the squad tomorrow, simply because I think it will give him a boost. It’s a chance to progress. At this moment in time everything’s going fine for him.”
However after sustaining a horrible injury against Fulham Rooney is still out but is recovering at a high pace .He is out for at least four weeks but United in this case has ample backup.
