Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has revealed that he will support Manchester United against Real Madrid next week.
However, there is a not-so-friendly motive behind it because Mancini hopes that Moruinho’s side distracts United from their title quest. He feels that City now has a chance to win the title because playing against Madrid drains out a team. He believes that this is the reason for City dropping points when they played against Madrid.
He has also said that United will be needing all the help they can get.
He was asked if he wanted United to beat Real Madrid, and to this he repliead, “Yes, it would be another two games for them. I will go there and support them with a red-and-white flag.
“But playing Real is tough — they are one of the best in the world. Them and Barca. They have incredible players, fantastic history. It will be very hard for United to beat them because they are a really top club.”
City will now be less burdened as compared to United who will have to play the premier League and the FA Cup. City will not even be playing the Europe Cup so they have nothing much on their minds, except the Barclays Premier League title.
Even last season, United did not let City take it away from them easily, because they only won on goal difference, and that too in the last few minutes.
