Arsenal’s midfielder Santi Cazorla is still shocked over Real Madrid’s decision to sell Mesut Ozil to the North Londoners.
Cazorla does seem very excited to play along the German international, but he admits that he is surprsised at Madrid’s decision to sell him.
Ozil’s move shocked a lot of people as it completed on deadline day as it became obvious that Ancelotti had no plans of using him at the Spanish capital.
Ozil later revealed that it was Arsene Wenger convinced him to join the Gunners.
“I am very happy that Özil is here. He is a spectacular player and we are very lucky that we are going to learn alongside him,” Cazorla told Spanish newspaper Marca.
“I don’t understand that (why Real Madrid sold him), he is a unique player.
“You will have to ask the club for reasons why they sold them, but at the same time he didn’t think he was getting the opportunities he deserved and luckily he has come to us.
“He is an important player and he is going to be very good for the team and the way we play. I hope he can help us fight against the big teams in the Premier League.”
Ozil scored a penalty for Germany on Tuesday night.
