What’s it like to be a United supporter? Seeing Manchester United play was arguably one of the most special times in my life. I see people around me, supporting Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid etc , but never has any team given me the pleasure, peace and love that seeing United does.
It’s not just a football club, it’s a lifestyle. The stadium, the players, the coach, everyone is so involved. When United are playing, it’s not just those eleven players playing on the pitch, it’s the hearts of millions, pounding with every single touch on the football. Everything is just flawless, from Scholesey’s tackles to Vida’s giant headers; from Rooney’s ball control, to Carrick’s silky passing; from Rafael’s passion, to Evra’s smile; from David’s saves to Rio’s jumps, everything goes in such an order, that you often wonder, ‘is this all planned to happen?’, ‘is there anything in the world that’s more beautiful than what I am witnessing?’ – definitely not.
The Chants around Old Trafford, they go about like a singing humming bird. Every word falls into the correct order.
We enter the 90th minute, trailing by a goal! Fergie looks at his watch and then towards his players like he just ordered them something, and believe it or not, everything starts to move quicker. He believes it’s never over until it’s all over. The boys move faster, the ball moves faster, like there’s a magnet in the goal, calling for it. And BANG! She goes In! Everybody goes wild! Manchester United, the comeback kings have struck again. It gives a heart attack everytime. From the heart breaks, to the moments of joy; from the moments of excruciating pain to the eye-watering happiness – if this isn’t what’s the best, than I don’t know what is.
I once saw a red team playing, and the rest is history!
