Arsenal do have long term strength in the wing department with Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Theo Walcott responsible for holding that job for years to come. Not to forget Serge Gnabry, who has been impressive and shown his glimpses of sheer talent whenever given the opportunity. But to be fighting for the silverware Arsenal need one creative standout player which would guarantee goals and assists from wide areas.
Despite starting the season well and dominating it till Jan-Feb, the Gunners collapsed when minimum bit of pressure was applied.
Arsene Wenger has already shown that he is ready to splash the cash for big players especially after paying a solid 42m amount for the German attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil and the reports suggest that he is once again willing to do that by paying similar amount for Angel Di Maria who has had a tremendous season at the Bernabeu.
Angel di Maria was one of the players Arsenal were interested in last summer. And now Spanish newspaper Marca says, the Gunners will go for him again this summer and are preparing a €40m bid to secure his services.
French giants PSG and Monaco are also interested, though the winger is fully focused on his full recovery and help Madrid win the La Decima.
Marca speculate that once the World Cup gets over, he could be a subject to bidding war from top clubs.
