Arsenal in a tiring need of a first teamer center-back are looking forward to strengthen their back four as they often have proved to be vulnerable. But Arsenal are in a serious hunt for a defender and they have targeted a high class very reliable center back, Swansea City captain, Ashley Williams.
According to ESPN, The Wales international is a target for Gunners who has had a frustrating transfer window as of now. Although Williams says he is not holding out for a transfer to the Ashburton Grove, he still believes the prospect of playing Champions League football would be too attracting to turn down if it was offered.
He said, “It’s very flattering but you take it with a pinch of salt because you see a lot written and you never know what to make of it.”
He added, “I just take it as a compliment. You must be doing something right, whether it’s true or not. All players with any ambition want to see how high they can get, whether that’s with their team — which has been the case with me at Swansea — or whatever really.”
So according to his quotes, it seems that Arsene Wenger just has to make an official bid for the center back to land him. It would turn out to be a much needed signing and will add depth to Arsenal’s squad, especially when their fourth choice center back is at season long loan.
